Truly, these times of ignorance God overlook, but now he commanded all men everywhere to repent." Acts 17: 30

About This Quote

The writer of Acts is a disciple of Paul in a letter he wrote to the church in Thessalonica. In this letter, he describes the state of the world back then. He starts by saying that people had all fallen into such a deep state of ignorance that they actually believed that God had abandoned them and considered themselves lost (v. 27).

They believed that God had abandoned them and considered themselves lost. He then goes on to say that these times of ignorance God overlook, but now he commanded all men everywhere to repent. What is the point? When we feel like we’ve done something wrong and we can't find forgiveness for it, we should kneel and pray and ask God to forgive us and give us the strength to get up again.
